Star Blanket

Decided I;d make some more blankets for my son as it’s cheaper than buyin them ready made. I got this pattern off Ravelry, think it’s turning out well …

This has now been finished and I will post a picture up asap. x

The amazing knitted toys!

In Crochet, Finished Pieces, Finished Pieces, Knitting on October 24, 2009 at 8:35 pm

  • These toys took little time, most from online patterns, some from magazines, but the octopus … i made that pattern 🙂
  • My son loves them 🙂

A not so good hat.

In Crochet, Finished Pieces on October 24, 2009 at 8:34 pm

  • Before making the tams I originally tried to crochet the hats as it was much quicker, but my tension with crochet is all wrong as i generally only make granny squares and toys when crocheting.
  • It turned out like putting a dustbin liner on your head.
  • At least my son took a liking to it I suppose 🙂 !

A spot of charity knitting.

  • These were originally going to be made for the big knit 2009 for innocent smoothies to support help the aged.
  • After only managing to get two done i figured i best keep them and put them on for the big knit 2010, really hoping they do one.

Joint work between me and Rachel.

  • Rachel is an amazing friend of mine, i taught her to crochet.
  • We decided to do some knitting for her kids together and we were quite impressed with the results.

  • A jumper for her son.

  • And a bolero for her daughter.
  • Much fun was had making these two 🙂 .

Tried out harlequin knitting for the first time and this is what i came up with :

  • Really liked it, my son soon nabbed it and claimed it as his, now it sits in his bed and he cuddles up with it.
  • Need to add one of my self knit-cover buttons to the middle and it’ll be perfect.

Blankets – works in progress

In Crochet, Works In progress on October 24, 2009 at 8:19 pm

  • Not so sure about this one yet, planning to do 9 of theses squares attached together and border them with the bright blue.

  • Did like this till i got a few rounds further and found the blue and white were just too much of a contrast to make what could be a stunning blanket live up to its standard.

  • Think this one is lovely, just need a bit of work on making it a bit sturdier so that all the flowers dont fold up, was thinking of a row of granny squares around the border.

Blankets I’ve Finished

In Crochet, Finished Pieces, Uncategorized on October 24, 2009 at 8:12 pm

  • For My partner – A giant granny square for the back of his car

  • A christening Present – 20 little granny squares joined together with a lovely shell border round the edge.

  • For my son – a whole ball of robin DK in the middle, nearly a whole ball of cream around that, a shell border in brown after, and finally a border of single crochets around the edge of the border, it’s super soft 🙂 i love this one.

Little Rainbow Bootees

  • These were made using the wool and pattern from ‘let’s get crafting – Quick knits’ the first issue of LGC to be about knitting 🙂
  • The wool is lovely, so smooth!
  • They fit him even now he is a year old, perfect little slippers!
